transitional summer to fall mantle decor

I love to decorate my home based on the holidays and seasons. After taking down the 4th of July decorations, how do you decorate?? After trying to get some ideas on Pinterest, I saw a few super cute “back to school/schoolhouse” themed mantles, but we were so busy in July/August, I just wanted to try to useĀ decorations & items that I already had. With the majority of my decor and style monochrome – I also wanted to incorporate a little pop of color.

I went with a little “harvest” theme –

  • A red pop of color, with a model tractor, an apple, and a red/burlap banner.
  • Signs of summer with the basic greenery
  • A bit of symmetry with my Fillhouer Family sign and the black & white chalkboard

The Fillhouer Family sign: framed board was bought from Hobby Lobby. I used my Silhouette Cameo to add the wording.

I love how a few random items (food, toy tractor, and decorations I already had) created such an adorable theme of their own, as we transition from summer fun into FALLLLLL!

Thanks for reading! Enjoy the last weeks of summer! Try not to wish away the days…but fall starts on September 22nd!
